Testing a new fish attractant

Posted by Wilbert Barrons on

Monday Eve I was able to get out fishing with my friend Duane. I had some new fish attractant I wanted to test and decided this would be as good a time as any.  We had been hearing that the bite north of St Clair was good so we headed north to fish harnesses. Most of the reports I had been getting were to fish the shallow water between 15-22 ft. We each fished 2 rods so I put the Fish Allure patch on one of the blades and dropped it in. It didnt take long for the gobies to find it and destroy the crawler so I then put on a wyandotte worm and dropped the rig back in. It took only a minute and I had a walleye on.  I decided then to put the patch on my other rig and dropped that in. I got a small perch on that rod right away. That was enough for Duane and he pulled up both his rods and put the patches on them.  We had quite a time trying to keep the gobies off but in the end we were able to boat 8 walleye, 1 large sheephead, a 6lb cat and 6 perch. Was it just luck or did these things really work? I dont know the answer to that but what I do know is I will be putting them on again my next trip out.
